NCBI Taxonomy

NCBI Taxonomy ID allow us to easily import full lineages. If you do not know the taxonomy ID, visit the NCBI Taxonomy Browser and perform a simple search:

Following the search results to the details page of a given organism will display the NCBI Taxonomy ID for you.

You may provide taxonomy information for any rank, however, the more precise the better. Currently IDBacDB will display Genus information in a number of places including the home page stats, search results, and library pages.
